A major technical evolution for the future of the software

With version Trikker V1.5.99, an important technical evolution has been introduced: the migration of the software to the Microsoft .NET 10 platform.

Although this change is not very visible to the user, it plays a key role in the quality, security, and future evolution of Trikker.

What is .NET?

The .NET Framework (or simply .NET) is a technology developed by Microsoft that serves as the foundation for many Windows applications, including Trikker.

In practice, .NET is a technical foundation layer that enables:

  • running the software
  • managing performance
  • ensuring compatibility with the operating system
  • providing a certain level of security

Like any technology, .NET evolves over time. Older versions eventually reach end of support, making updates necessary.

Why this update to .NET 10?

The migration to .NET 10 allows Trikker to:

  • run on a modern and supported technology platform
  • improve stability and performance
  • enhance application security
  • prepare for future developments

This is an essential step to ensure the long-term sustainability of Trikker.

What does this mean for users?

In most cases, this migration is completely transparent and does not change how Trikker is used on a daily basis.

No specific action is required, other than installing the new version.

However, a few important points should be noted:

End of support for older systems in new versions

Starting from version Trikker V1.5.99, new versions of the software are no longer compatible with Windows 7 and Windows 8, as these operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft.

Continued user support

We will of course continue to support our users, regardless of their current environment.

Users working on Windows 7 or Windows 8 can continue using their existing version of Trikker in their current setup.

This means that your current installation will continue to work, but a system update will be required to access future versions of Trikker.

Using the latest versions of Trikker

To install and use the latest versions of Trikker, and benefit from new features and improvements, it is necessary to use a version of Windows that is compatible with .NET 10.
